Prionics plays an important role in contributing to food safety and the protection of consumer health by providing innovative diagnostic solutions for a number of health threatening farm animal diseases. In this issue of eScope, we introduce two new tests, developed by Prionics, for the detection of bovine salmonellosis and toxoplasmosis; two important zoonoses (i.e. diseases and infections that are transmitted from animals to man). The application of the new PrioCHECK® Salmonella Ab bovine ELISAs and the PrioCHECK® Toxoplasma Ab will make significant contributions to ensuring food safety.
Maintaining close ties with customers and leading experts in the field of animal diagnostics is the reason for Prionics presence at scientific events, such as the recently held euFMD week in Vienna, Austria. Prionics was an active participant sponsoring both a exhibition booth and prizes for the best presentations and poster design. Read more in this issue of eScope about the meeting and about the launch of our latest diagnostic test that secures the purity of vaccines during FMD vaccine production - the new PrioCHECK® FMD IPC 3ABC.
