The new organization of Prionics and Cedi-Diagnostics is now fully operational resulting in greater benefits to the customers of both companies. The new partnership brings together individual R&D efforts with the goal of offering a broader portfolio of farm animal diagnostics. Cedi has also taken on the role of a Prionics sales organization.
In March 2006, Prionics announced the acquisition of Cedi-Diagnostics - a spin-off of the world-famous Wageningen University and Research Centre (Wageningen UR) See eSCOPE 4.
The first milestones and benefits of the acquisition have materialized according to plan. On June 1st, Cedi-Diagnostics became successfully operational as a Prionics sales organization and now serves the Benelux and Nordics markets; offering its existing Cedi product range as well as Prionics' products. Additionally, Prionics now markets Cedi products through its distribution network as the 1st of July onwards.
A growing product portfolio of farm animal diagnostics, through a collaboration with Wageningen UR, is the goal of the integration. To fill the product pipeline, Prionics, Cedi-Diagnostics and The Animal Science Group of Wageningen UR have started their first joint R&D projects.
Integration of the two companies' operations will be nearly complete by the end of 2006. The final step takes place in 2007 when Cedi Diagnostics is renamed Prionics Lelystad.
