Gain in number of eSCOPE subscribers
eSCOPE is a tool Prionics uses to regularly inform subscribers about our activities in the market and developments in the disease areas in which we are active. This service is highly valued by our customers and our list of subscribers continues to grow.

Gain of new products
Information is needed now more than ever as our product portfolio has increased substantially, first with the acquisition of the former Pfizer Animal Health diagnostic products Parachek®, Bovigam®, Cervigam® and Primagam®, and now with the products of Cedi-Diagnostics B.V.. Cedi is a Dutch company that Prionics acquired in March of this year. More information about this acquisition is in this edition of eSCOPE. You can meet Prionics and Cedi at their first joint booth at the International Conference "Prion Diseases of Domestic Livestock" in London at the end of May.

Gain in number of BSE test products
It's not only Prionics that is changing. The BSE test market is rapidly changing as well. Whereas in the first evaluation round in 1998 only three tests were approved for the diagnosis of BSE, today there are 12 tests that are officially approved by the European Community. Diagnostic laboratories now have a choice of good products - each with their own special attributes and advantages - to exactly fit their BSE testing needs.
With all these new tests on the market an overview that lists the characteristics and advantages of each test was needed. In this issue we report on the review paper prepared by Alex Räber, Prionics' Head of Research, and Bruno Oesch, Prionics' CEO and Head of research and development, published in the latest issue of Vaccine.

We hope we have gained your interest.
