Prionics and Cedi-Diagnostics will make their first joint appearance since Prionics' acquisition of the Dutch firm at the Prionics booth at the international conference Prion Diseases of Domestic Livestock. The conference takes place May 28 - 30 at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in London.

Cedi-Diagnostics is a spin-off from the world-famous Wageningen University and Research Center (Wageningen UR). Through the purchase of Cedi, Prionics acquired a substantial number of new products and gains rights to commercialize developments made by the research center. As part of their joint appearance, Prionics and Cedi Diagnostics will organize a breakfast meeting to present the companies, details of the acquisition and future plans.

About the conference
The Prion Diseases of Domestic Livestock conference is hosted by the Veterinary Laboratories Agency (VLA), the International Forum for TSEs and Food Safety (TAFS) and the OIE Reference Laboratories for Switzerland and Japan. The conference marks two key milestones: the first recognition of BSE in 1986 and (10 years later, in 1996) the announcement of the first cases of variant CJD in humans. The conference focuses on successes in addressing the national and global challenges posed by BSE and related prion diseases, and on demonstrating the positive impact that science has had on national controls and trade rules that enable cost-effective risk reduction for both animals and humans.
