Homogenization is a crucial step in a TSE test. Prionics' customers now additionally have the possibility to use the new PrioGENIZER™ homogenization system, which is economical, robust and has a high sample throughput. The new, improved system can homogenize eight samples simultaneously in 45 seconds; allowing the homogenization of 480 samples per hour.

The PrioGENIZER™ and corresponding homogenization containers - PrioCLIP™ - have been developed by Prionics using the input of diagnostic laboratories all around the world. The new tools have been approved by the Community Reference Laboratory for use with all three of the Prionics TSE tests: PrioSTRIP^®, LIA and WESTERN. With the PrioGENIZER™, Prionics has designed an extremely stable and cost effective homogenization system. The Swiss quality tool is compact and saves valuable laboratory space. The PrioCLIP™ sample containers have an ergonomic shape that allows single-handed opening and closing of the lid. The mouth is wide, facilitating the transfer of tissue samples and collection of homogenates. To complement the PrioGENIZER™, Prionics developed elegant accessories for removal and transport of homogenized samples.

And this is how it works
Eight PrioCLIP™ homogenization containers are placed in one rack and inserted into the PrioGENIZER™. After homogenization the racks are collected on a tray with which six racks can be removed from the device in one go. In turn, the trays can be conveniently stored and transported on a storage system, which can contain a total of 288 samples.
