Prionics has been recognized for its contribution to animal health and food safety at the 2006 Animal Pharm Industry Awards. The award honors the achievements of the Swiss biotech company for having successfully expanded its solution portfolio for the early diagnosis of major farm animal diseases. Today, Prionics ranks among the top three global companies in this field.
Prionics among "best in class"
Within ten years of being formed, Prionics has made its way into the top league and ranks among the three leading global diagnostic players in farm animal health. Recently, the Animal Pharm Industry Excellence Awards were held in London to recognize "best in class" companies across the animal health industries. The expert jury judged aspects such as innovation, performance, product pipeline, new drug launches and financial return. "Being considered among the three "best in class" animal health companies in the world and ranking on a level with renowned companies such as Pfizer Animal Health is a tremendous achievement for Prionics. This award confirms that our strategy to focus on major farm animal health issues and grow our diagnostic portfolio accordingly is working", says CEO, Dr. Markus Moser.
Prionics will further develop its core business by creating diagnostic solutions in its own R&D facilities and laboratories in Zurich as well as through collaborations and acquisitions. Earlier this year Prionics acquired CEDI Diagnostics B.V. and signed a strategic partnership with the Animal Science Group of Wageningen (the Netherlands); a recognized leader in animal disease control. These recent initiatives have enabled the company to access a unique research and competence center and to further expand its portfolio with tests already proven in the market.
